CALL FOR ARTIST SUBMISSIONS
The Moving Mountains Climate Confluence is seeking proposals for interactive installations to
be featured at the Moving Mountains Climate Confluence on March 27-29. The conference will
take place at the Life Sciences Innovation Hub at the University of Calgary (3655 26 St NW) .
Three artworks will be selected and the artist (or team) will be paid $1000 each, which includes
the artist fee and materials budget. The artist (or team) will also receive a free pass to the
conference. The install will occur on March 26 beginning at 10 am. The submission deadline is
Sunday, March 1, 2020.
Artworks should consider how a single action can manifest into collective change and/or how
climate change informs the future of decolonization, poverty, business, emotional well being, or
other social issues. Concepts should be proactive and future-thinking since the conference’s
aim is to offer the public ways in which they can help.
Preference will be given to proposals that:
1)Allow for public interactivity but are not reliant on the artist being stationed at the site of the installation. (however, we would be open to any ideas so please don't let this hinder you from submitting an idea -- performance? ongoing facilitation? etc.
2)Explore climate change in an experiential manner.
